La sophrologie se pratique depuis près de 60 ans.
Elle fut fondée dans les années 1960 par le docteur Alfonso Caycédo, psychiatre d’origine espagnole.
Pour résumer, c’est une synthèse des différentes méthodes orientales et occidentales de bien-être.
La sophrologie puise ses origines dans l’hypnose mais, est également inspirée du yoga, du bouddhisme tibétain et du zen japonais.
La grande différence avec ces pratiques essentiellement orientales (asiatiques), et justement celle qui nous intéresse le plus, est que cette méthode a été adaptée par le Docteur Caycédo de manière à être accessible et compréhensible par le monde occidental. En effet, elle prend en compte le gouffre culturel, très spécifique à ce domaine, qui nous sépare et donc, cette adaptation des différentes méthodes, nous permets de bénéficier de tous les bien faits mais, de manière appropriée à nos modes de vie. Nous l’appelons la méthode Caycédienne.

La méthode touche plusieurs aspects, ce aussi bien psychiques que corporels, avec pour objectif, entre autres, d’aboutir à une harmonie du corps et de l’esprit.
On y parvient en travaillant sur certaines caractéristiques fondamentales telles que la respiration, la relaxation dynamique, la concentration, la méditation,… mais toujours, et ceci est une spécificité, de manière personnelle, avec ses propres attributs et capacités.
Dans la vie de tous les jours, la sophrologie est un outil transmis par le sophrologue.
Par le biais d’exercices simples à la portée de tous, nous favorisons la décontraction musculaire, le relâchement et l’apaisement physique et mental.
La sophrologie est, une pratique axée sur la connaissance de soi. Elle pour objectif de manière générale d’aboutir à un mieux-être de la personne dans sa globalité physique, psychique et sociale.

La sophrologie s’applique à chaque personnes désireuse de trouver une certaine sérénité, un épanouissement, se connaitre un peu plus profondément,… mais pour d’autres, ce sera de donner les outils pour faire face à des épreuves ou événements ponctuels divers et variés.
